Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, one of Bali’s most iconic landmarks, will host daily Gebogan Parades throughout July and August 2025. In collaboration with the neighboring Blooms Garden, this colorful tradition will bring the spirit of Balinese ceremony to life for both domestic and international visitors.
Although some travelers may not recognize the name, Ulun Danu Beratan Temple is instantly familiar—it’s the temple depicted on Indonesia’s IDR 50,000 banknote printed between 2000 and 2014. Nestled on the shores of Lake Beratan in the Bedugul Highlands, the temple is a popular stop for those exploring central Bali.
The Gebogan Parade, featuring elaborately arranged offerings and traditional dancers, will be held on weekdays at Ulun Danu Beratan Temple and on weekends at The Blooms Garden. Both venues are operated by the same management team, and the event is timed to maximize exposure during peak visitor hours.
Made Sukarata, Head of Public Relations for Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, confirmed that this year’s parade will be the fourth edition of the seasonal celebration—and promises to be the most spectacular yet. “We adjust the location based on visitor trends,” he shared. “On weekends, The Blooms Garden sees higher foot traffic, so we bring the parade there.”
Exact parade schedules will be published on the temple’s official social media channels in the coming weeks.
Beyond the daily Gebogan Parades, visitors can also expect special performances of traditional Kecak and Barong dances, adding another layer of cultural richness to the highland experience.
Currently, both Ulun Danu Beratan Temple and The Blooms Garden attract an average of 1,700 visitors daily, with numbers rising to 1,800 or more on weekends. As high season approaches, that number is expected to spike significantly, especially with bookings already coming in from student groups and tourists from Java, Australia, China, India, and across Europe.
“This is a time for celebration,” Sukarata said. “With the return of our cultural programs, we’re optimistic that visits will rise even more.”
For travelers wanting to escape the coastal heat and explore Bali’s lush interior, the Bedugul Highlands offer a refreshing retreat. A day trip to Ulun Danu Beratan and The Blooms Garden pairs perfectly with visits to Handara Gate, the Twin Lakes, and nearby waterfalls. For those wishing to stay longer, there are charming accommodations nestled in the cool mountain air.
If you’re in Bali this July or August, don’t miss the chance to witness one of the island’s most visually stunning traditions in a setting that’s as serene as it is spectacular.
